PSC Chairman Mr. Stephen Kirogo addressing the Selection Panel for the Chairperson and Members of the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC)

The Selection Panel for the Chairperson and Members of the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC) was sworn in on Wednesday, 4th December 2019 at Commission House, Nairobi.

The brief ceremony was presided over by the Public Service Commission Chairman Mr. Stephen Kirogo as provided for in Section 11 of The Kenya Law Reform Commission Act No. 19 of 2013.
Mr. Kirogo reminded the panel of the critical role ahead of them, noting that they have come on board at a time when the country anticipates a lot of transformation.

“You have a central role of providing Kenyans with men and women who are fit for purpose, in reforming our legal infrastructure,” he said.
He challenged them to give commitment to the task and assured them of full support from the Commission in terms of secretarial services.

The nine-member Panel comprised of Mr. Jasper Mbiuki, Office of the President; Ms. Emily Chweya, Office of the Attorney General; Mr. Abdalla Cheruiyot Bii, National Council for Science and Technology; and Dr. Vincent Nyagilo, National Economic and Social Council.
Others are Ms. Irene Itoto Echakara, Association of Professional Societies of East Africa; Ms. Mary Mugure Mutugi , Law Society of Kenya; Ms Faith Mony Odhiambo, Federation of Women Lawyers; and Hon. Mohammed H. Gabbow, National Council for Persons with Disabilities..
