Pioneer commissioners of Public Service Commission (PSC) in the new Constitutional dispensation ended their six-year tenure on 8th January 2019.
The eight Commissioners, Prof Michael Lokuruka, Patrick Gichohi, Lawrence Nyalle, Veronica Birgen, Catherine Omweno, Titus Ndambuki and Judith Bwonya, led by the Vice Chairperson Amb. Peter Ole Nkuraiya thanked the President for honoring them to serve Kenyans in their capacities at the Public Service Commission.
The Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa of Devolution and ASALs thanked the commissioners and promised that the Ministry will work closely with the Public Service Commission to nurture the young Public Service Boards that the Commission helped empower in the Counties.
PSC Chairperson Mr. Stephen Kirogo congratulated the outgoing commissioners, for laying a firm foundation on which the Commission will continue to build. The Chairperson called for a paradigm shift on the Commission and in the civil service at large, from self-centeredness to citizen-focused service delivery.
The Commission CEO, Dr. Alice Otwala expressed gratitude to the commissioners for their pioneer works and for championing professionalism, accountability and employee wellness at the Commission.
SRC Chairperson Lyn Cherop thanked the PSC under the outgoing commissioners for helping stabilize their newly created commission. She urged public servants to collaborate and contextualize solutions in the service.
