The Public Service Commission on 5th March 2020 hosted a meeting of planning sub-committees charged with preparatory tasks for the 6th General Assembly of Association of African Public Service Commissions (AAPSCOMS) to be held in Kenya in August 2020.
The aim of the meeting was to ensure uniform understanding of the concept of AAPSCOMS and allow members to familiarize with terms of references for respective sub-committees ahead of convening their first meetings..
The meeting, which was held at Serena Hotel, Nairobi, brought together members nominated by respective Constitutional Commissions and Independent offices as their representatives across the seven sub-committees.
The Vice chairperson Ms. Charity Kisotu urged the committee members to give full commitment to their assigned duties for prompt finalization of tasks ahead of the August conference.
She also urged all Commissions which are not members to register with the association.
She noted that members of the association have opportunity to share experience and enhance good governance.
“I urge all sister Commissions and Independent offices to register as members of AAPSCOMS,” she said.
Present at the meeting were, Commissioners, CEOs and senior staff from Constitutional Commissions and Independent offices.
