Public Service Commission Secretary Paul Famba, has underscored the fundamental role the Commission Strategic Plan plays in executing the Commission constitutional mandate and more so citizen service delivery.
The PSC Chief Executive while addressing Senior Management of the Commission at the Kenya School of Government during a workshop on reviewing the Commission Strategic Plan, reiterated the importance of undertaking the process and noted it would go a long way in providing a strong foundation for posterity.
“ While it is a working document, the draft strategic plan provides a strong foundation for our future direction to guide PSC for the next 5 years and therefore must clearly establish a link with the National Development Agenda,” said Mr. Famba.
The CEO at the same time further noted the need for the PSC strategic plan to be aligned with the Commission’s larger vision which emphasizes the need to transform the public service for effective service delivery.
“ This strategic plan must provide key strategies to overcome our known limitations, including those related to inadequate staffing, office accommodation, financing, and stakeholder management. I am particularly focused on program proposals and strategies that will enhance public service efficiency, effectiveness, citizen-aligned priorities, and the promotion of ethical conduct. Ultimately, this strategy must provide solutions to the challenges facing the Public Service,” he added.
The one-day review of the draft PSC strategic plan brings together the Commission senior management and Kenya School of Government consultants who have been key in the development of the document.
